Lona

Terms of use

Last updated 7 November 2026 · Applies to the Lona app for iPhone and Lona Plus

The short version

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and the developer of Lona ("we", "us"), an individual developer in the Netherlands who makes the Lona app ("Lona"). They apply when you download or use Lona or buy Lona Plus.

Your licence to use the app itself is Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "EULA"). These terms add the rules for Lona's AI features, Lona Plus and the built-in store browser. If these terms and the EULA conflict about the licence to the app, the EULA applies.

Our privacy policy explains how Lona handles your personal data. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

2. Who can use Lona

3. Lona's AI features

Lona's closet, outfits and store browser work without AI. The AI features (your full-body look, try-ons, Style me, Help me decide, "Where to buy", Shop a screenshot, clean product photos, tags and colour checks) only work after you agree to send the photos and text involved to Google's Gemini AI, through Lona's server. You can turn AI off at any time in Me → Privacy & AI.

The AI is provided by Google. We can't guarantee it's always available, and Google's safety filters may refuse to make some pictures. Lingerie, underwear and full swimwear are never sent for a try-on. When Google refuses a try-on, Lona may send the identical request up to three times in all, and never changes it to get past the filters.

4. AI results are previews

AI pictures show how clothes could look on you. They aren't photos, and they can be wrong about fit, size, length, colour, fabric, prints, your body or your face. Style me, Help me decide, colour advice, tags and "Where to buy" suggestions are generated by AI and can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Check a product's details, size and price with the store before you buy, and use your own judgement. AI results aren't professional advice of any kind.

AI pictures you share from Lona carry a small "Made with AI · Lona" label. Don't remove it, or otherwise present an AI picture as a real photo, in a way that could mislead anyone.

5. Your photos and content

6. What you may not do

You may not use Lona, or the AI pictures it makes, to:

If you break these rules, we may stop your access to Lona's AI features (see section 12).

7. Free use and Lona Plus

8. Changes and interruptions

To keep Lona working and affordable, we may set and change daily or other limits, and pause AI for maintenance, for security, when Google's service is unavailable, or when app-wide spending limits are reached. We'll try to keep interruptions short.

We may change or improve Lona, for example to keep up with Google's AI models, the law or security needs. If a change to Lona Plus is more than minor and affects you negatively, we'll tell you clearly in advance, and you may end your subscription free of charge as your consumer rights allow. If we stop offering Lona Plus or its AI features before the end of a period you've paid for, you'll be entitled to a proportional refund for the unused part.

9. Stores and other websites

Lona's built-in browser opens store websites and Google search pages. Those sites are run by others, under their own terms and privacy policies. We aren't a party to anything you buy from a store, and aren't responsible for their products, prices, availability, delivery or returns. Lona currently earns nothing from the stores you visit; if that changes, we'll say so in the app and here.

Price-drop alerts are a convenience. Lona checks prices only for pieces you watch, and only while the app is open, so an alert can be late, missed or wrong. Always check the price at the store.

10. Lona's name and app

The Lona app, its name, design and code belong to the developer of Lona, and are licensed to you only under the EULA. Brand and store names shown in Lona belong to their owners and don't mean they endorse Lona. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

11. Liability

We make Lona with care, but it's provided as it is and as available, and we can't promise it will always work without errors or interruptions. As far as the law allows:

These limits don't apply to damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness, to death or personal injury, or where the law doesn't allow liability to be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights if the app or Lona Plus doesn't conform to our agreement, stay unaffected.

12. Ending

You can stop using Lona at any time by deleting the app; cancel any subscription in your Apple Account settings first. We may suspend or stop your access to Lona's AI features if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect others or the service. Where possible we'll tell you why. Sections 4, 10, 11 and 14 continue to apply after these terms end.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when Lona or the law changes. We'll change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply. Changes don't apply to a period you've already paid for, unless they're required by law or are only in your favour. If you don't agree with a change, you can cancel your subscription and stop using Lona.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you're a consumer living in another country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country.

If something goes wrong, please email us first so we can try to sort it out. If we can't, disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, but as a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.

15. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Lona, its content, maintenance or support. Questions and complaints about Lona go to us.
